Our Principal Speaker - Dr. Ch'ng Huck Khoon, pursued his PhD studies in Finance at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He holds a MBA (Finance) from the University of Stirling (UK), is a professional Certified Financial Planner, an Associate Member of The Institute Of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) as well as an Associate Member for Centre for Business and Management (CBM) University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR).


Dr Ch'ng is currently the CEO for CHK Consultancy Sdn Bhd. He is also an Independent Non Executive Director for CNI Holdings Berhad, YGL Convergence Berhad and AT Systematization Berhad ( public listed companies in BURSA Malaysia). He is the Chairman of Audit Committee for CNI Holdings Berhad and YGL Convergence Berhad. He is a columnist with Shin Chew Daily and United Daily (local newspapers) on stock market matters, apart from being interviewed by Astro, RTM and eTV on financial related topics. 


He is also working freelance as Assessment Consultant for MSC Malaysia Multimedia Super Corridor Research and Development Grant Scheme (MSG), Mentor for Cradle Investment Programme, Subject Matter Expert for Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC) Industry Transformation Initiative (ITI) / Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses and a speaker for Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) Continuing Education (CE) courses. He is a HRDF Certified Trainer, External Moderator / Paper Examiner for INTI International College (Laureate International University) and Academic Council and Examination Board for SDH Institute (Singapore).


Dr Ch'ng was an Assistant Professor at the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and Wawasan Open University (WOU). He lectured on Financial Management, Financial Strategy, Money and Banking, Financial Planning and Corporate Strategy related modules. He was also a Capital Markets Services Representative License holder for 15 years with A A Anthony Securities Sdn Bhd. One of his research papers entitled 'How Many Securities Make A Diversified Portfolio: KLSE Stocks?', was selected as the winner of the Security Commission Capital Market Award 2000. His main research interests are in investment and behavioral finance. His research papers have not only been published in Malaysian journals but also in India and Australia.

Teck Seong has extensive marketing experience and good rapport with the key purchasers & opinion leaders in the Malaysian Medical Diagnostics industry. He is a member of the American Chemical Society & American Society for Microbiology and the Malaysian Society for Microbiology.


He is well versed in the designing & managing of applied microbiology research projects and has excellent access to local research institutes. He is currently involved in consultancy services to commercialize Malaysian Biotech companies. He had successfully completed the “Biotech Entrepreneur” Training Course organized by the Malaysian Biotech Corp. His business development expertise was instrumental in developing the Cardiochek (point-of -care Lipid Monitoring System) market in Malaysia with penetration into the private sector (2003), East Malaysia (2005), Government Clinics/IKU Mortality & Morbidity Survey 2011 & K1M Cholesterol tender 2013. Teck Seong is hands-on in providing technical & maintenance support and is actively looking for possible biotech collaborations.

                                                                                       

He has a Masters in Biotechnology from the University of Kent, United Kingdom (graduated 1993) with advanced research exposure in microbial genomics & enzyme technology. He was the EXCO member of the Malaysian Youth Council (2006-2010) and was part of the Malaysian delegation to the UN GAID “Empowering Youths for ICT”, Geneva 2007 & Capacity Building for Youth, ASEAN Secretariat, Yangon 2007. He also successfully completed the “Youth Professionalisation Training Course” organized by the Commonwealth Secretariat in 2008.
